Ashley Garnder and husband Tyson have welcomed four bundles of joy this Christmas, safely delivering two sets of identical twins.
Utah woman Gardner drew worldwide attention back in August, when her reaction to discovering she was expecting quads was posted online.
On Sunday last, she and her husband welcomed the “Quad Squad”, 12 weeks ahead of their due date. The babies were delivered early by Caesarean Section following complications.
The quads, who their parents have named Indie, Esme, Scarlett and Evangeline, weighed in at only two pounds each at birth, but all are said to be doing well.
Prior to her miracle pregnancy, Ashley and her husband had been trying for a baby for eight years. In the past year, they had finally reached their savings target for in-vitro fertilisation treatments.
The odds of giving birth to two sets of identical twins areapproximately one in 70 million.
