A racoon who scaled a nine-story building and jumped off has miraculously survived the fall.
The animal was spotted in New Jersey's Ocean City on Friday climbing up the side of a building, and then propelling itself away from the wall towards the sandy ground.
The racoon then simply ran away.
Footage of the so-called "Daredevil" was shared widely on social media following the stunt, with many stating that the racoon must be superhuman to have survived such a high drop.

However, as it turns out, the racoon may have had some falling-based tricks up his sleeve leading to his safe return to the ground.
Rather than simply freefalling and hoping for the best, it is likely the animal extended his limbs as he dropped, creating a dragging effect so he didn't hit the ground as hard as he would have done otherwise.
... Or the racoon is simply an otherworldly creature too good - and too brave - for this earth.
Whichever.
