1998 should have been the greatest year in Linor Abargil’s life, the Israeli woman was crowned Miss World and instead of celebrating her new title, she had something entirely different on her mind.
Seven weeks previous to being awarded the Miss World title, Linor was abducted and brutally raped at knifepoint. After hours of being held captive, the beauty queen had to convince her attacker not to kill her.
Brave Miss World is a documentary that follows Linor as she embarks on an epic journey to empower victims of sexual assault around the world. She set out to encourage women to speak-out, dispelling all of the “shame” surrounding the horrendous act.
As we watch the footage showing this beautiful woman receive her crown, the pain and hurt is very visible on her face. Those are not tears of joy.
This four-minute long video is a trailer for the heart-wrenching documentary.
We really are in awe of this truly phenomenal woman.
