Childhood sweethearts Les and Helen Brown shared many things together, the same birthday date, 75 happy years of marriage and in the end, a very touching memorial service.
The Long Beach Californian couple were both born on the 31st of December 1918, eloped on September 19th 1937.
The couple, who married against their parents’ wishes, would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this year died only one day apart.

A joint memorial service was held for High School sweethearts over the weekend.
Helen, who suffered from stomach cancer passed away on the 16th July. Les had been battling with Parkinson’s died the following day.
The couple’s youngest son Daniel summed up his parents' life and death in an interview with the Grunion Gazette.
"My mom often said she didn't want to see my father die, and he didn't want to live without her."
