If your name is Elizabeth Wilson and you work for ACP Magazines, just know that you are a disgrace for harassing my sweet, sick grandma.
— Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) February 26, 2016
Sorry I'm riled up about this situation but if your own grandma was harassed by employee of a company, you'd be up in arms too X — Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) February 26, 2016She didn’t stop there, however. Posting a photo, she identified the journalist writing: Here she is - total scum. The problem was the Elizabeth Wilson in the photo was not in any way related to an incident with Rebel’s grandmother.

Twitter users quickly demanded that Rebel apologises for the mistake while many remarked that it was a shady thing to share the image at all in the first place.
@RebelWilson You don't have to apologise for the treatment of your grandma. You do need to apologise to the innocent lady you victimised.

@RebelWilson Why haven't you apologised for hounding an innocent journalist? — Sam Hamilton (@samuelthekiwi) February 26, 2016
@RebelWilson like I'm sorry your grandma is getting hassled but calling out the wrong person on social media is not the way to go
— Sapphy Mienert (@sapphmonster) February 26, 2016
@RebelWilson I would be. But when I found out I'd posted the wrong person's picture, I'd have tried to fix things. — Cate (@notthatCate) February 27, 2016
@RebelWilson Sure, I'd be upset. But what you did was completely irresponsible. You owe that other woman an apology.
