“This is the way that I was built, this is the way that I was born.”
Demetria Obilor, a Channel 8 reporter got trolled on social media over the weekend for her outfit choice and hairstyle while reporting on television.
People took to their phones to post comments saying her dress was “ill-fitting” and that it looked “ridiculous” on television.
However, the Dallas reporter alongside hundreds of fans and fellow television professionals have fought back alerting online trolls that you cannot post mean comments and think it will affect us. We are stronger and louder than you and your malicious words.
Demetria shared a video to her Twitter account saying: “You know when you look a little different, people think it’s OK to talk to you a little different and I am on TV you know, I can’t clap back, so I am forever grateful to the people who come to my defense, people I don’t even know who stand with me and say you know Demetria, you don’t have to put up with this, and I love you for that.”
