A new survey reveals that only 17 per cent of tourists believe a holiday on our Emerald Isle represents poor value, Irish Independent reports.
Only four years ago that figure was 41 per cent.
Four out of 10 overseas visitors to the country last year rated Ireland as “good to very good” value for money, while the same numbers rated us as “fair”.
Now that’s not too bad is it?

The most excited tourists? The North Americans... obviously.
The Fáilte Ireland survey also revealed that North Americans are the most enthusiastic about their trips here (something we possibly could have guessed ourselves...), with more than half saying their Irish holiday exceeded expectations.
More good news? It’s also reported that Fáilte Ireland estimates that around 5,000 extra jobs were generated in the tourism and hospitality sector last year.
