Ronan O’Gara made an offer to Irish fans ahead of Sunday’s game that he may regret

Brave man

Her

Non, je ne regrette rien.

Nothing beats a bit of Sunday brunch, particularly when ROG is hosting.

All hope seemed lost after Ireland scuppered a golden opportunity to earn three points against Sweden before being comprehensively beaten by the Belgians. However, the mood of the Irish supporters was lifted to astronomical levels when Robbie Brady stuck the ball in the Italian net.

Next on the agenda, a chance for retribution for Thierry Henry’s basketball incident that sank Irish hearts back in 20019 as the Boys In Green have drawn hosts France in the round of 16.

The 30,000 or so Irish fans who have spent the last 10 days painting France green have done the country proud.

They’ve really won over the locals with their acts of general soundness and heir commitment to the party atmosphere at the tournament.

However, there are a lot of them, which is what makes us think Ronan O’Gara extending an open invitation for fans to have brunch at his gaff in France may not have been the wisest idea.

The former Ireland and Munster fly-half has had a very successful coaching career since moving to France in 2013, but we sincerely doubt he has the facilities to accommodate the army of Ireland supporters who just might take him up on the offer.

Ronan, Non, je ne regrette rien.
