Rotunda NICU are on the look out for knitters to make tiny superhero capes

Melissa Carton

Are you an avid knitter?

If you are or know someone who is, there is a very special cause in Ireland that needs your help.

Rotunda NICU is on the lookout for people to help their little heroes by knitting them special miniature superhero capes.

The Rotunda knitters and crocheters page recently put out a call to anyone who could help them make several of these tiny capes before October 10.

The capes will be used for the babies being cared for by the NICU staff this Halloween.

“We need a few more of these capes for our Superheroes in NICU for Halloween. They are a quick knit and can be done in any colour. They always get a great reaction from parents & staff. If you can help please get them into us BEFORE 10th OCTOBER so we can have them ready in time!”

I can only imagine how cute they will all look in their little costumes.

The post comes with a photograph of what the cape should look like as well as the instructions on how to knit the piece.

Finished capes can them be sent or dropped to Rotunda Knitters c/o Rotunda Foundation, Rotunda Hospital, Dublin 1.

These capes will be given to very small infants and for safety reasons, only capes that are made according to the specifications can be accepted.
