Russell Brand, actor, comedian and author has made the transition from funny man to social commentator seamlessly, with his regular updates of Trews (True News) in which he addresses social issues of concern.
In his latest instalment of The Trews titled 'Ireland! Care About Water? Bunk Work Wednesday!', Brands chats to Brendan Ogle from Unite The Union to discuss the demonstrations being carried out across the country that oppose domestic water charges introduced by the government as a 'key austerity measure'.
Brand has called on the people of Ireland to take a day off work on December 10th and attend the protest being held in Merrion Square against the water charges.
The 39-year-old jokes that Irish protests have a better atmosphere than any others and he may even attend himself.
