Lots of actors suffer for their craft...
From Clare Danes giving herself facial cramps doing that crying face on Homeland to Renée Zellweger piling on the pounds for Bridget Jones, the life of a thespian is tough. Plenty of actors are prepared to tackle their characters head on and fully commit to the part and it looks like Ryan Gosling went one step further on the set of Gangster Squad and decided to let a nasty wardrobe malfunction help him really get into the role.
Apparently, Ryan’s suit was so uncomfortable and itchy that it made the hunky actor break out in a full-body rash but instead of complaining the Notebook star says that it actually made his performance better. "The wool was quite itchy, so I had a rash... I channelled that irritation into my hatred for the gangsters."

The movie which also stars Emma Stone, Sean Penn and Josh Brolin chronicles the LAPD’s fight to keep the east coast mafia out of Hollywood in the 1940s and 50s and see’s Gosling play Sgt. Terry Wooters.
