Say What? Jedward Abandon Pop For A Career In Fashion!

You might not rate their off-the-wall dress sense but it looks like one of Europe’s most fashionable capitals does!

The dynamic duo are huge stars in Sweden and this year’s Eurovision hosts have employed the Dublin twins to turn the Eurovision hopefuls into style queens or kings.

And in typical Jedward style, John and Edward have been blogging their opinions on the styles of this year’s competitiors in ‘Melodifestivalen’ videos for the last four weeks.

Their pearls of sartorial wisdom include “get a lollypop”, “google Nicki Minaj” and “wear more studs”. Insightful as ever.

They also kindly offer to send another contestant a tie saying: “we have a collection of over 500 ties so we can send you one in the post.”

Sweden’s selection show is more popular in the country than the Eurovision itself - it takes the form of a travelling six-week arena tour, the final of which takes place in the 100,000 seat Friends arena in Stockholm so the styling gig is a big deal for the aspiring fashionistas. 

The twins have represented Ireland twice in the Eurovision – in 2011 with Lipstick – for which they received ‘douze points’ from Sweden – and in 2012 with Waterline. 

So hopefully being immersed in all things Eurovision will make them remember their roots!
