Nope, according to Niket Sonpal, M.D., assistant clinical professor of gastroenterology at Touro College of Medicine, the best way to get rid of them is a lot more simple.
Speaking to Women's Health, he suggests simply sipping and gargling some cold water until they go away.
He also said that a big factor is stress, so try not to freak out and know that "time will simply help them dissipate."
As for holding your breath? This can work too, as long as you don't get panicked and stay relaxed.
