There are so many films on TV on a weekly basis, we thought we would draw your attention to some of the better movies that you can check out from the comfort of your own home. Here are seven of the best films that are on TV this week.
1. Rough Rider, Monday, RTÉ1, 9.30pm.
A documentary which follows the career of former pro-cyclist Paul Kimmage, Rough Rider goes beyond the Lance Armstrong controversy and examines the man himself. If you are interested in the Lance Armstrong events, this is definitely for you.
2. Another Stakeout, Tuesday, Film4, 6.55pm.
If pure ridiculousness is what you are after on a Tuesday evening, don't look any further than Another Stakeout. The film follows two cops who constantly disagree with each other during a stakeout (obviously). This is hilarious if you like that old 80's type of comedy.
3. Dear John, Wednesday, E4, 8pm.
The story of a solider who falls in love with a college student while at home on leave. Really all you need to know here is that Channing Tatum is in this film.
4. Mystic River, Thursday, TCM, 9pm.
A heartbreaking story of loss, Mystic River tells the story of three men who are reunited following the death of one of their daughters. This is directed by Clint Eastwood. That is all.
5. Sharknado 2: The Second One, Friday, Syfy, 9pm
Yes, it's all kinds of silly but it's still worth it for so many reasons, we actually can't wait to see the sequel to Sharknado, an event Tara Reid reckons could actually happen.
6. Minority Report, Saturday, TV3, 11pm.
One of Tom Cruise's finest films, Minority Report tells the story of a special police unit in the future who predict murder but when of its own officers is accused of murder, the tables are turned.
7. Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Sunday, TV3, 9pm
The first film in the reboot of the series, Rise of the Planet of the Apes was arguably one of the best films from 2011. The film tells the origin story of Caesar, the leader of the intelligent genetically-enhanced Apes.
