It seems we’re over the worst of it, at least that’s the sentiment according to the latest survey by Eurobarometer.
Measuring the public opinion and trends in the EU, the latest Eurobarometer results show that optimism has grown by seven points in Ireland to 78% over the past 12 months.
Proving that you can’t keep us down, the score was significantly higher than the EU average rating of 56%.
The survey was carried out across 28 states, with Poland following closely at 74% and Sweden coming in third at 66%.
According to the results, Irish people are seeing the end of the crisis, with 72% of respondents feeling the jobs crisis has already reached its peak, while 38% of people feel ‘good sentiments’ about the state of the Irish economy (an increase of 14 points since the last survey).
So what’s the number one concern for Irish people?
48% answered that the unemployment situation is the most important issue currently facing the country, with the economic situation coming in second place.
