Sinead O’Connor has been named in the Rolling Stones list of Breakthrough Moments in the History of Rock’n’Roll for women.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer made it to number 43 on the list which celebrates women who rock.
The singer, born in County Dublin, was recognised for shaving her head which at the time marked the release of her debut album entitled The Lion and the Cobra.
O’Connor also sported the look in what is her most famous music video to date, Nothing Compares 2 U which reached number one in 1990.
Madonna’s 1984 MTV Music Awards performance of Like a Virgin also made the list. So too did the more recent queens of pop; Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Britney Spears.
