If you were hoping for a bit of snow over the weekend, we hate to disappoint you, but it looks as though Ireland is set to escape the worst of the bad weather that’s currently battering the UK.
While the UK is covered in snow and battling against the -6C wind from Russia known as “the beast” we could escape the worst of it. In fact, over the weekend it looks as though the most we’ll have to put up with is some frost and rain (which isn’t so bad, considering how intense things are in the UK at the minute).
“We will have very little snow and just some frost in the mornings,” said a forecaster from Met Eireann.
Ireland’s weather experts said that temperatures were likely to hit a low of -3C over the weekend, which would create a bit of frost. They also warned motorists to take extra care in the coming days and to watch out for black ice, which would make driving conditions treacherous.

We may not get the huge fall of snow that we were expecting but we will get a lot of rain over the next few days, with a brief break from it tomorrow.
“Saturday will be mainly dry with some sun, but it will be raining in the west,” said a forecaster.
The rain is expected to become widespread on Sunday and our unsettled weather will continue until well into next week.
