Facebook video has increased massively over the last 12 months, and we find ourselves spending minutes of every day watching clips shared by friends and online publications. When I first watched this next piece of footage I was shocked, until I realised the important message behind it.
A video has surfaced online of an Irish guy shouting at a woman for breastfeeding on a London Tube.
The video was shared by Trollstation with the caption "Man discriminates woman for breastfeeding in public."
In the clip the man becomes abusive and irate, hurling comments such as: "I don't give a f*ck what you do with your baby... I feel uncomfortable, please expect my wishes. Feed your baby before you come out... Could you please not expose yourself".
Upon further inspection, I realised that the full-length video is also available online from Trollstation, and it has emerged that it was all part of a social experiment. The woman pretending to breastfeed and the irate Irish man were both in on the act.
Breastfeeding images have been a topic of widespread debate, particularly after Instagram banned an Australian woman from the social network for sharing images of breastfeeding.
Some of the comments underneath the post commended the video for highlighting the issue.
One person said, "Staged or not, well done to all that stuck up for the breastfeeding woman, the world definitely needs more people like you."
While another said, "At least it does make a point and show people would stand up for the mother and child."
