A remorseful beer theif has become a minor internet celebrity after they left an apology note and $140 to a couple that they regularly stole beer off over a period of several years.
Digital Spy reports that Leo and Dee Samad from Kentucky were getting fed up of having beer stolen from a fridge in their back garden. However one day they discovered a note and some money that was left behind by a thief who was clearly feeling bad about what they had done.
The note said:
“Enclosed is a sum of cash that my friends and I owe you and your family to repay you for all of the times we have stolen from your poolside fridge/bar over the past few years.”

Cheers for the drink!
The beer thief also said that they hope to meet the Samads one day in the future so they can apologise face-to-face for their bad behaviour.
“I hope you will accept my most sincere apology for trespassing as well as feeling entitled to take what was not mine. The amount [of money] is a rough estimate, and I realise no amount will completely satisfy the anger you may have,” the note continues.
Dee said that she would happily hug the beer thief and welcome them into her home simply because they had recognised that they had done wrong and were “man enough” to say sorry for their actions.
