Sports, Silent Night and Strictly Come Dancing: The Best of Tonight’s TV

From a little pig to the world of Irish sports, there’s plenty to keep you entertained tonight! Babe – RTÉ Two (1.55pm) In this family flick, James Cromwell stars as a farmer who decides to train a piglet to become a sheepdog for the annual fair. Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas Live from Dublin – RTÉ One (2.25pm) A popular musical which includes some festive favourites including Silent Night, Joy to the World and I’ll Be Home for Christmas. Strictly Come Dancing – BBC One (6.30pm) In the first of tonight’s two shows, the remaining contestants take to the floor for the last time but only one couple will be crowned champions. Results are at 8.40pm. Disney’s A Christmas Carol – RTÉ One (6.30pm) Animated take on the Charles Dickens classic about a man who is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve. With Jim Carrey. The RTÉ Sports Awards – RTÉ One (9.45pm) Darragh Maloney hosts the ceremony which celebrates the best in Irish sport. Awards include the Sports Person of the Year and the Team of the Year.
