Ladies, we can all relax!
A recent study has revealed that we don’t actually become adults until our thirties.
Professor Peter Jones, from Cambridge University, said:
“What we’re really saying is that to have a definition of when you move from childhood to adulthood looks increasingly absurd.”
“It’s a much more nuanced transition that takes place over three decades.”
He added: “I guess systems like the education system, the health system and the legal system make it convenient for themselves by having definitions.”
“I think the system is adapting to what’s hiding in plain sight, that people don’t like (the idea of) a caterpillar turning into a butterfly,” he said.
“There isn’t a childhood and then an adulthood. People are on a pathway, they’re on a trajectory.”
This makes a lot of sense, when you consider that we start to become our mothers at 33.
According to new research by a Harley Street surgeon, we start becoming our mums in our thirties.
We are likely to start adopting the same tastes and attitudes as our mums in the first few years after having our first child.
Makes sense, in fairness.
The study revealed more than fifty percent of the women surveyed admitted that they stopped rebelling against their mums in their early thirties.
Dr Julian De Silva explained:
“We all turn into our parents at some point in our lives – and that is something to be celebrated. Becoming parents is the main trigger and lifestyle factors are also important.”
