As it happens every year, with the new series of X Factor, comes the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
And while we would certainly have tuned into the show in the past, we’ve never really had anybody to root for. But this year is going to very different as we have the lovely Nicky Byrne, hubby of Her.ie contributor Georgina Ahern, to cheer on!

The former Westlife singer will be getting our vote on the show.
Joining the former Westlife singer is a variety of stars, 14 to be precise, from the world of television, music and sports. While the show have managed so far to keep a number of them secret, the dancing cat was well and truly out of the bag yesterday when they all turned up for their first day of rehearsals.
According to reports Nicky won’t be the only singer taking to the dance floor in the coming months. Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh is joining him and is guaranteed to give everyone a run for their money with her stage show experience.

The singer has lots of dancing and performing experience.
As for the television crowd you have Dani Harmer who played Tracy Beaker, Lisa Riley who used to be Mandy in Emmerdale and ex-Eastenders actor Sid Owen. On top of that former Big Breakfast host Denise Van Outen, Fern Britton of This Morning fame, as well as Daybreak’s Richard Arnold and Zoe Ball’s old man Johnny Ball will also be showing us their moves.

We'll get to see the former Eastenders star's best moves.
From the world of sport there is the former England cricketer Michael Vaughan along with two Olympic athletes Victoria Pendleton (cycling) and Louis Smyth (gymnastics).

She can win medals alright but can cyclist Victoria Pendleton dance?
Finishing off the group are Mick Jagger’s ex Jerry Hall and a mystery figure wearing a Team GB hoodie.
You can tune in to see which celebs have been paired with which dancers next Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
