You’re about to get more bang for your buck when you head into Subway. A whole extra inch to be precise.

Confused?

Well a new court order means Subway now must serve their footlong and six inch subs to exact size measurements after 10 individuals complained of being down-sized with their meals.

According to The Guardian, the move comes as part of a settlement of a class-action suit filed against the fast food chain after an Australian teenager in 2013 posted an image of his sandwich on Facebook that was only 11 inches long.

Ten more individuals than brought separate class action, where the judge approved Subway pay $520,000 in legal fees and $500 monetary fees to the 10 who brought the class suit.
Lawyer for the plaintiffs, Thomas Zimmerman, told the court:

“It was difficult to prove monetary damages, because everybody ate the evidence.”

Subway has assured customers they have taken the necessary steps to deliver excellent service in the future.

Releasing a statement, they wrote:

“This allows us to move forward, without distractions, on our goal to provide great tasting sandwiches and salads, made exactly as each guest likes.

“We have already taken steps to ensure each guest receives the footlong or six-inch sandwich they order.”
