Here at Her.ie towers there’s nothing we love more than a feel-good story and we this one definitely made us smile. Thanks to a local project in Brazil called “Beach For Everyone” the disabled community is finally getting a chance to enjoy the seaside.
The Huffington Post reports that Beach For Everyone is a community sponsered initiative that aims to bring accessibility and inclusion to the main beaches in Rio de Janeiro. Great idea, huh?
The initiative wants to implement disablity-friendly accesibility infrastructure to as many beaches as possible so people with disabilities can enjoy a trip to the beach just like everyone else.

Beach For Everyone also hosts weekend recreation activities for people with physical disabilities and provides all the necessary equipment that allows people with disabilities to take part in activities that would normally be impossible for them.
Thanks to amphibious chairs and games like sitting volleyball, participants are able to safely enjoy the sun, the sand and the sea. There’s also physical education and physiotherapy professionals on hand to make sure that the atmosphere is safe and fun.
We think this is a great idea and one that is definitely making a positive difference to the lives of people with disabilities. We love it!
