Earlier this week Commander Chris Hadfield, an astronaut whose currently having the craic in space, made every Irish person on Twitter smile with his stunning picture of Dublin from space.

Amazing or what? Commander Hadfield received more than a thousand retweets in half-an-hour from Irish speakers on Tuesday who were overjoyed with his cúpla focail on the social networking website.

The astronaut has a soft spot for Ireland and his daughter, Kristen, is currently studying at Trinity College in Dublin.
After viewing Commander Hadfield’s picture it got us thinking about just how gorgeous Ireland actually is. When the sun is shining (hell, even when it’s a bit miserable outside) there isn’t anywhere else that we’d rather be.
There’s green everywhere, the natural landscape is absolutely fab and the people? Well, they’re just the best in the world.
