A new survey has revealed that three quarters of Irish adults have pulled a sickie in work because they are hungover.
The study, conducted by Lifeline Hangover Defence, found that the majority of us have had to skip work following a heavy night out.
Not surprising considering that two fifths revealed that they consume five to 10 alcoholic drinks during a night.
And it sounds as if the nation is planning more than a few heavy nights out this Christmas with a quarter, of those asked, getting ready for eight nights out over the festive period.
As for office parties, they are a major cause of the fear with 20 per cent of Irish people telling their bosses what they really think and almost three quarters of them hooking up with a co-worker.
The morning after, Irish adults tend to turn to strong coffee, a breakfast roll or a brisk walk. Other popular ‘cures’ include energy drinks, tea and takeaways.
