Police in suburban Sydney received reports of a ‘violent incident’ that involved neighbours hearing a woman screaming and a man yelling death threats from an apartment.
There was plenty of noise coming from the flat when the police arrived, with what sounded like furniture being thrown around the room.
However, the door was opened by a rather embarrassed man who had been trying to kill a massive spider and gotten a tad carried away.
The police at Harbourside posted a play-by-play on their Facebook page: 
We can’t say we blame this man considering the horrendous varieties of spiders found Down Under. According to Australian Geographic: 'Spiders are the most widely distributed venomous creatures in Australia, with an estimated 10,000 species inhabiting a variety of ecosystems.'
