A video of a Tube worker on the Victoria line in London making a somewhat jovial announcement to commuters in a Caribbean accent has become an online hit.
Everybody has to lighten up the monotony of their day some way…
Most journeys on the London Underground are mundane, unless it’s a first time experience as a tourist, but this platform would have been anything but dull.
The conductor was obviously sick of giving information to the passengers in the monotone announcements the Underground crew are known for, so he decided to make his own special announcement… complete with Caribbean slang.
“This train is for all de Brixton crew. Service update, everyting irie, everyting cris. Chill out, kick back, no need let anybody cramp your style,” the guard called out in a relaxed tone.
“Rastaman driver, take these beautiful people to their destination.”
Some commuters smiled, but it looked like nothing would cheer up some on their commute, not even this ingenious impression.
