Let’s talk blind dates. Have you ever been on one? Would you ever go on one? We’re asking because we have to say we’re a little curious about the new mobile phone app from dating website OkCupid.com.
The mobile app, called Crazy Blind Date, is hoping to revolutionize the way in which we date by not revealing what your potential future husband looks like before you meet him. Yes, the application encourages you to agree to a date based on how attractive you find his personality. ![]()
Sometimes you can end up with a stud but what if you end up with a dud?
Now, don’t get us wrong, we know that looks definitely aren’t everything, but we’re inclined to think that there needs to be a certain amount of physical ‘spark’ between you before you can really judge whether or not you like someone.

OkCupid maintains that they know exactly what they're doing but do you trust them?
Anyway, Crazy Blind Date (affectionately dubbed ‘the stranger-arranger’), aims to get rid of the waiting period involved in setting up a date with a man you meet online. Basically the app helps you set up a date with a fella with only a few hours’ notice – oh and you don’t really know anything about him beforehand. You won’t even know what he looks like.
You simply pick what nights you want to go on dates, which bar or coffee shop you want to meet your date at and then the application picks a match for you based on your personality and your location.

The app asks you to pick the days you'd like to date and where you'd like to meet up
Okay, so it does sound like the hassle-free way to set up a date, but honestly? We’d feel a bit weird meeting up with a randomer who we’d never even seen before. Also, maybe we’re just a bit paranoid, but we’d have some safety concerns as well. What do you think? Would you ever try this app?
