A 16-year-old girl has miraculously survived a 3,500ft fall after her parachute failed to open during a skydive.
Makenzie Wethington, from Texas, was given the trip for her 16th birthday by her father who also jumped in Oklahoma on Saturday.
But things took a turn for the worse when her primary parachute failed to open and she plummeted to the ground.
Thankfully, she survived the accident and is now recovering in hospital from her injuries which include a broken pelvis, lumbar spine, shoulder blade and several broken ribs.
Makenzie’s father, who watched his daughter fall to the ground, has now said that she should not have been allowed to partake in the skydive.
The Telegraph quoted him as saying: “I don’t think she should have been allowed at 16 to go up there and perform that type of jump, no matter what I say or she says, she shouldn’t have been allowed.”
Makenzie is lucky to be alive.
