Now, call us crazy but we can’t imagine that being on the Titanic was the biggest barrel of laughs, however, an Australian billionaire has decided that it could’ve been right craic. So much so, in fact, that he’s decided to build an exact replica of the tragic ship.
Clive Palmer is currently in the process of having a replica of the Titanic built by a Chinese ship manufacturer. Why? Well, he thinks that he can build it better than the folks who built the original.
Surprisingly, over 40,000 people have expressed interest in riding the replica which, if all goes according to plan, will follow the exact same route that the original Titanic took in 1912. The route stretches from Southampton to New York City and yes, it will go through icy waters. Yeah, we fail to see how this could possibly end badly...

Some guests have even said that they’ll happily pay up to $1million per ticket to ride on the ship’s maiden voyage, which is expected to take place in 2016 when the ship is completed. Once finished, Titanic II will be able to accomodate 2,400 guests.
Maybe we’re just being overly superstitious here (or maybe we’ve just watched Titanic way too many times) but surely ‘ressurrecting’ the Titanic is a bad omen?
