There are so many films on TV on a weekly basis, we thought we would draw your attention to some of the better movies that you can check out from the comfort of your own home. Here are seven of the best films that are on TV this week.
1. The Guard, Monday, Film 4, 9pm.
An Irish classic, The Guard starring Brendan Gleeson is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most enjoyable and hilarious Irish films of all time.
2. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Tuesday, Sky Movies Action and Adventure, 7pm.
The second in the Lord of the Rings series and quite possibly the best of the three, the Two Towers really dialled up the action for Frodo's trip to destroy the one ring. This is Peter Jackson at his best.
3. Jennifer's Body, Wednesday, E4, 11.10pm.
Written by Diablo Cody, she of Juno fame, Jennifer's Body stars Megan Fox as a young teenage girl turned vampire who goes on a bit of a rampage.
4. Ocean's Eleven, Thursday, TCM, 9pm.
Brad Pitt and George Clooney star in the first of the series which sees them pull off a great and what seems like impossible heist. (It's Brad Pitt and George Clooney. They can do anything.)
5. The Wedding Singer, Friday, RTÉ1, 10.05pm.
Adam Sandler at his best and believe us, we struggle to say that but this exceptionally entertaining.
6. The Godfather Part II, Saturday, RTÉ2, 9pm.
The second in the trilogy, The Godfather II often ranks as one of the best of the Coppola films and with the origins of the mafia family documented, it's easy to see why.
7. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Sunday, RTÉ1, 9.30pm.
Probably not Fincher's best but Benjamin Button, the story of a boy who aged in reverse, is definitely one of his sweetest. Worth checking out for the Cate Blanchett performance alone.
