Buy a little hatted smoothie and make a big difference.  It's that time of year again, folks. All over Ireland, little Big Knit hats are starting to appear on innocent smoothie bottles across the country, from the biggest supermarkets to the smallest local newsagents and cafés. For each bottle sold wearing a little knitted hat, innocent Drinks promises to donate 30 cent to Age Action, who help keep older people warm and well during the harsh conditions of our Irish winters. Over the past seven years, Irish people up and down the land have knitted an incredible 455,000 little beanies, bonnets and berets as part of the innocent Big Knit campaign, raising a total of €140,000 for such a deserving Irish cause. Here's why innocent Drinks need(le) your help:

• People aged 65 and over are seven times more likely to be hospitalised as a result of colder temperatures, compared with those aged 18 to 44
• Every winter, as many as 2,000 older people in Ireland die needlessly because of complications due to the cold.
• Last year’s donation of €20,000 funded 24,000 DIY jobs in 34 locations around the country, through Age Action’s Care & Repair programme.
