Earlier this week the Her.ie team was fiercely divided over a banana and mayonnaise sandwich.
The unlikely combo was first spotted on Dale Earnhardt Junior’s Twitter where he uploaded a snap and described it as his “favourite sandwich”.
Of course, the internet reacted accordingly and the sandwich quickly went viral.
While most were completely revolted, others cheered Dale’s bravery on.

But either way, Nascar driver Dale Jr. is making sure something positive comes from the whole ordeal.
He has now set up a fundraiser, aptly named after the banana/mayo sandwich, with the intention to feed hungry kids.
Didn’t like my sandwich? I don’t hate you. Forget about it and let’s feed some hungry kids. I’ll match up to $50k. https://t.co/iMLnstx7ga

He has put out a call for donations to the Blessings in a Backpack initiative, and has even vowed to match up to $50,000.
