Who is the most annoying person on your newsfeed?
Is it the friend who constantly takes photos of every morsel of food they put into their mouth? Or is the emotional attention-seeker?
Nope. It's the "fitness boaster".
Suppose nobody wants to read about other people's fitness achievements when they're sprawled out on the couch scrolling their social media feed.
People who boast about the amount of exercise they do have topped a list of most annoying social networkers.
The survey, carried out by Sweatband.com, found that fitness fanatics and dieters are the most irritating social media users, followed by "meal-sharers", "attention-seekers", and frequent "Checker-inners".
The questionnaire was completed by 1,793 social network users.
A total of 52 per cent admitted to using services such as Facebook and Twitter less due to annoying status updates, while 38 per cent have quit them completely for the same reason.
"We all have those friends who, often for a short period of time, feel the need to tell us about every single calorie burnt," said Sweatband.com managing director Maz Darvish.
"Whilst social media has given us a great way to keep in touch with friends, family and people of interest, it's also given us another way to bombard people with things they just don't care about."
True that Darvish.
Facebook and Twitter users who regularly post about their children's daily lives also ranked highly on the list, along with those who send gaming requests.
However, a quarter of those questioned admitted to irritating their own followers with their updates.
If you do have friends that you can't delete but you're dying to get them off your newsfeed, try out these three alternative methods to ban them from your newsfeed instead.
