Is this the most elaborate prank ever? We’re inclined to think so given the amount of effort put into it. A university has received a package addressed to Indiana Jones. Yes, as in the character played by Harrison Ford in the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The following package arrived at the University of Chicago’s admissions department, addressed to Mr Henry Walton Jones, Jr. Also known as Indiana Jones (and/or Harrison Ford depending on how you look at it).

In the package was an exact replica of a journal from the first Indiana film Raiders of the Lost Ark. In the films, this journal belonged to the fictional professor Abner Ravenwood, who just happened to work for the University of Chicago.

Clearly stumped by the delivery, the admissions department of the University posted pictures of the journal on their Tumblr page along with the message: “The book itself is a bit dusty, and the cover is teal fabric with a red velvet spine, with weathered insets and many postcards/pictures of Marion Ravenwood (and some cool old replica money) included.
“We don’t know why this came to us. The package does not actually have real stamps on it – the outsides of the package was crinkly and dirty as if it came through the mail, but the stamps themselves are pasted on and look like they have been photocopied.
“We have heard from Lucasfilm (nerd sidebar: OMG SO COOL) that this is not some type of viral marketing package for any upcoming Indiana Jones films or events.”

Harrison Ford as the butt-kicking archaeologist Indiana Jones
Wait… so does this mean that Indiana Jones may actually exist? Unlikely, but the above story is bound to give your boyfriend a bit of a laugh if you’re not a die-hard Indiana Jones fan yourself. We’re definitely giving the prankster behind this stunt a major A+ for effort!
