The FAB cocktail bar you absolutely have to visit when in Barcelona

visiting Barcelona

Have you been there?

Like most people, I love a good city break and visited Barcelona for the first time in March.

When we arrived, after a flight that turned back to wait on the runway for an hour and a half (don’t ask), it poured rain. Needless to say, my expectations for the trip weren’t sky high.

However, it is a stunning city and even though the weather didn’t exactly behave, we still had a ball on our three-day stint.

This was partly due to the fab spots to eat and drink, just waiting for you to take your pick.

If you do happen to visit anytime soon, I’d advise taking a trip to Old Fashioned cocktail and Gin Bar, located on Carrer de Santa Teresa.

It is SO good.

A tiny little bar that boasts the best cocktails ever, not only do they look amazing but they taste delicious and the staff go over and above to ensure that they’re delivering a drink that’s catered specifically to you.

I had the prettiest gin and tonic in the world and don’t even get me started on the Breakfast at Tiffany’s cocktail.

The names are just as good as the drinks themselves and although we said we would stay there for ‘one’, we ended up spending three hours perusing the menu and having the chats.

Such a gorgeous spot and if I ever return to Barcelona, I know where I’m going first.

We also had fantastic tapas in one little spot and honestly, I’m drooling just thinking about it now.

Truffle ravioli, duck breast, chorizo, monkfish, beef, it was superb and reasonably priced too.

We stumbled across Sensi, in the Gothic Quarter, on our last night there and it was packed which meant having to wait 50 mins for a reservation.

My companion was starving and wanted to eat immediately but it was my birthday and I may or may not have used this as a bargaining tool to eat there, let’s just say I had a good feeling.

We added our names to the long list and had a wander around before returning to claim a much-coveted corner table.

It was worth the wait and I would go back to Barcelona for it alone. It was so good that I only managed to take one photo because of the pasta and the cheese and the YUM.

The tapas was perfectly timed too and each dish was more gorgeous than the rest. We polished the whole lot having ordered more than our fair share and as I type, I’m reliving just how tasty everything was.

There was plenty we didn’t see including Barcelona’s Magic Fountain and Mount Tibidabo, any excuse for a return journey…
