Katie Taylor’s success at the London Olympics was a story followed by the nation and now she will release her memoirs just in time for the Christmas season.
The boxer will publish her first book, My Olympic Dream, with the help of Irish Times sports-writer Johnny Watterson.
Within the illustrated memoirs, Katie reveals her training routines and how she prepared for the Olympics. She will also delve into how she became interested in the sport in her early life.
Katie, who hails from Bray, County Wicklow, won an Olympic gold medal on August 9.

Katie will release her memoirs just in time for the Christmas season
According to RTÉ, Katie said: "After fulfilling my childhood dream of winning an Olympic gold medal I'm delighted to share some of the moments with all those people who showed me such extraordinary support through the greatest week of my life and touched my heart.”
"My story of Olympic gold is a journey from my childhood to my triumph at London 2012 for fans who travelled with me all the way,” she said.
The humble boxer, who won a People of the Year award last week, will be touring around the country promoting the new book.
Her.ie can’t wait to get our mitts on this memoir and we think it will be the perfect book to flick through in front of a roaring fire and a box of Roses on Christmas Day.
