A British Airways flight from London to Dubai this week was reportedly forced to turn back to Heathrow Airport for a reason that may give you a good giggle.

According to reports, the flight was turned back due to the foul smell that was coming from an overflowing toilet on board.

Councillor Abhishek Sachdev, who was on the plane, tweeted that the seven-hour flight was forced to return to its starting point “because of a smelly poo in the toilet”.

According to reports, staff had tried to deal with the situation, but the smell became too overpowering and they were forced to turn back.

“The pilot made an announcement requesting senior cabin crew, and we knew something was a bit odd,” Mr. Sachdev revealed to the Mail Online, saying that the captain made the announcement approximately 30 minutes after take-off.

“About 10 minutes later, he said you may have noticed there’s a quite pungent smell coming from one of the toilets.”

“He said it was liquid faecal exrcrement, those are the words he used. He said it’s not a technical fault with the plane, and he was very adamant about that.”

The plane was reportedly brought back to London due to health and safety reasons.

“We’re very sorry for the discomfort to our customers,” a British Airways spokesperson told the Welwyn Hatfield Times.

“We provided them with hotel accommodation and rescheduled the flight to depart the following day’s lunchtime on an alternative aircraft.”
