Here are the ten stages of hitting that 3pm wall...
1. The warning signs
You start zoning out of whatever you're supposed to be working on, and the struggle to concentrate becomes real.
2. The pre-emptive measures
You do some casual stretches at your desk to try and trick yourself into feeling more alert.
3. The struggle
The stretches don't work and your eyelids start to feel very heavy. Very heavy indeed.
4. The crash
Before you know it, you've actually dosed off at your desk. That's right, you've full on fallen asleep on the job.
5. The action
Right, it's definitely time for a break now, so you step away for a few minutes. At times like this, sometimes it's best to flee the scene.
6. The fight back
You make yourself a strong cup of coffee and start downing it. Seriously, you can't get the caffeine into your body fast enough.
7. The scavenging
You go on the hunt for those emergency office treats and get stuck in. It's almost like that massive lunch you ate two hours ago never even happened.
8. The revival
Suddenly you feel yourself starting to come back to life. In fact, you're now feeling so good you have to stop yourself from busting out a few moves.
9. The false sense of security
You happily make your way back to your desk, and all is well with the world for a time. Until you realise that you've probably overdone it on the snacks and the coffee. Majorly overdone it.
10. The smile
Then it dawns on you that there's only an hour to go before it's home time. And it's happy days for the rest of the afternoon.
When the 3pm slump in your office strikes, strike back with a Nature Valley Protein Bar.
