Here are the ten stages of being hangry.
The shift in your mood
You suddenly notice your frame of mind taking a turn for the worse. But you're not quite sure why. Yet.
The irritability
The hangry cogs start to turn. You realise that you haven't eaten anything for several hours. Everyone and everything around you starts to get on your nerves.
The food envy
Why does everyone around you seem to be eating all of a sudden? What the hell is going on? Everyone becomes your enemy.
The denial
You take a step back and try to convince yourself that there's nothing wrong. This is a very short stage.
The frustration
You're now so hangry you don't bother trying to hide your annoyance any longer. The lunatic inside you is starting to make an appearance.
The aggression
The lunatic is definitely on the loose. Your tummy is growling and you're starting to lose control.
The delusion
You zone out and start imagining all of the thing you want to eat.
The moment it all starts to get a bit much
The struggle is real. You take a couple of deep breaths to try and calm yourself down. It doesn't work.
The meltdown
You've reached a ten on the hangry scale. The people around you think you've actually lost your mind. All reason goes out the window. Nothing else matters. You need food NOW.
The relief
You finally get your hands on some food and you inhale everything edible you can find. The lunatic is tamed and all is well with the world. Until next time.
When hunger strikes, strike back when Nature Valley Protein bars.
