The rumour mill has been in full swing for some time now and, it is true, there’s generally no smoke without a flame of truth or two...
It’s official: Jay Leno is leaving NBC’s The Tonight Show next spring. The takeover host? The ever-popular Jimmy Fallon.
The show is also set to relocate back to New York, Rolling Stone reports, and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels will take over as the producer.
Fallon’s successor on his 12:35am slot has not been announced yet, but Saturday Night Live’s Seth Myers has been considered for the position.
“I hope you’re as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you’re the old guy,” Leno said.
“I’m really excited to host a show that starts today instead of tomorrow,” Fallon added.
Fallon and Leno joined forces earlier in the week for a sketch about the shows rumours.
