The Week Ahead Sees More Weather Warnings On The Horizon

Sorry folks.

Megan Cassidy

The balmy weather is not going to be around for long.

Although temperatures are a very mild 14C, we can’t say goodbye to our cold Winter weather just yet.

Wind and rain has already started battering the country, and it’s set to continue throughout the week.

Temperatures will stay mild, however will drop below freezing at night, and yes, there are likely to be more weather warnings on the horizon.

Met Eireann forecaster Joanna Donnelly said:

“We’re in for a rather unsettled week, with heavy rain expected and strong winds at times too.

“We’re looking at possibly having warnings issued for heavy rain and strong winds on Tuesday which will spread across the country.

“Tuesday’s heavy rain and strong winds are expected to continues into Wednesday.”

“Temperatures are higher than usual for this time of year, but with very strong driving rain and winds – temperatures do tend to become quite irrelevant.”

There is light at the end of the tunnel however, with the harsh conditions subsiding on Thursday in favour of a bright, brisk day with sunny spells and temperatures of about 10C.

But that won’t last for long, with rain returning on Thursday night and unsettled conditions continuing into the weekend.
