There’s A Big Day Ahead In Sunday’s National Football League

Let the battle... commence! Sunday, April 19^th, may not seem like a major date for most of you, but for ladies football players across the country, it is a day when battles will be fought and won. After a cracking weekend of action last week, two out of four of the divisions have come right down to the wire, with two big play-offs taking place on Sunday. First up, it is the hugely-anticipated clash between Division 2 table toppers Cavan and Donegal. Both sides have remained unbeaten throughout this year’s league campaign and when they faced off head-to-head just a matter of weeks ago, there was nothing to separate them at 2-10 apiece. The winner of that game will advance to a semi-final against fourth place Westmeath, while the loser will meet third place Armagh in the other semi-final. Meanwhile in Division 3, Roscommon and Leitrim will also face off in a play-off in order to decide the semi-finals. Following a three-way tie for second place, Sligo were pulled out of the draw as second place winners, leaving the other two to play off. The winner of the game will face Sligo, while the loser will play top of the table Waterford. Elsewhere in Division 4, two semi-finals will take place as unbeaten Limerick meet Louth while Antrim take on Offaly in what are set to be two hugely competitive fixtures. Limerick enter the semi-final as favourites thanks to their winning streak this year, while a determined Antrim team will be looking to make amends for a final loss last year.
