There’s A New Theory On Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Ending And It’s About To Ruin Your Childhood

Maybe he's not such a Prince Charming?

Remember the happy ending where Snow White was kissed by her Prince Charming and they lived happily ever after?

Well the internet has a new theory on what really happened in those final scenes, and it’s not quite as sweet and rosy as our childhood hopes would have us believe.

According to Movie Pilot, the Prince isn’t quite as charming as we’ve been led to believe.

The movie buffs have unveiled an alternative ending, marking our Prince as the Prince of Death.

Looking at the relationship between Snow White and the Prince, the site points out that the first time she meets her suitor comes just after she’s been hanging over the wishing well.

Appearing frightened when she first sees him, Snow White then runs away – with spectators arguing the encounter reflects a brush with death.

Disney’s happily ever after has also been tainted with the theory, with Movie Pilot devising a pretty different meaning to the final scenes of the ‘wake-up’ kiss:

“The Prince’s kiss could actually represent him rousing Snow White from the grave to escort her into the afterlife, hence the strange imagery in the sky and the white horse used to lead his princess into the distance.

“The white horse has a symbolic relationship with death in the bible (referred to as a ‘pale horse’ in Revelations) and this might also explain why Snow White is seen saying goodbye to the dwarfs like she is never going to see them again.”

Excuse us, we’ll just be over in the corner re-assessing our childhood.
