There’s some good news FINALLY on the way for hay fever sufferers

hay fever symptoms

Hay fever is brutal.

Ever since the heatwave began, many Irish people have been left watery-eyed, runny-nosed and suffering from what feels like an endless sneezing fit.

And sure, the anti-histamine tablets, eye drops, nasal sprays and throat lozenges do help (most of the time), but with the pollen levels remaining high throughout the warm weather – well, we could use a bit of a break from hay fever.

The heatwave is set to continue for a little while longer, but it looks like things will soon be getting better for those of us with hay fever.

The most recent pollen forecast from Met Éireann says that the heat is making the grasses exhausted – which, in turn, means they are producing less pollen.

According to Allergy Ireland, most of the people who have hay fever are only affected by grass pollen – so it’s good news, guys.

Well, kind of.

Met Éireann forecasters did warn that while things are going to get better (and that grasses are past their peak), there is still a high risk of pollen for the next two days.

After that, the levels of grass pollen will gradually decrease until they hit more moderate levels.

You can check out the full pollen forecast here.
