There’s a powerful message behind this photo of a UK medical team

They look after us in our time of need, and care for our loved ones. There is no doubt we would be lost without all the wonderful medical practitioners out there, both in Ireland and further afield. Following the Brexit referendum last week, there has been a lot of political unrest in Britain. Many Europeans living and working in the UK are wondering what their future will hold, doctors and nurses included. Following the vote, NHS staff in a London hospital took a powerful photo to show just how important immigrants were to their staff.

The picture was originally tweeted by Eric Rose (@DoctorAngry), a retired GP and medical politician. The seven professionals pictured at Homerton University Hospital in Hackney, London, are from an array of countries, Ireland included. The message behind the photograph is a powerful one, immigrants are contributing to the NHS is a serious way. The photo has since gone viral online with thousands of people liking and retweeting to show their support.
