It sounds like a scene from The Hangover but we imagine that this poor woman wasn’t laughing! A lady who popped to the loo during a circus performance ended up sharing the bathroom with an escaped tiger.
Metro reports that Jenna Krehbiel was left reeling when came face-to-face with a wayward tiger in the bathroom. Jenna had taken her three-year-old daughter to the bathroom during a performance by the Irish Shrine Circus in Kansas and didn’t realise that the loo was already occupied.
According to reports, the tiger had performed as part of the show but managed to slip away after its stint in the ring. The tiger somehow ended up in the women’s bathroom while frantic circus staff searched for it.
“I turned around calmly and walked back toward the door. Someone opened the door and said get out,” said Ms Krehbiel, speaking to he Salina Journal.
While the tiger wasn’t “the biggest” one in the circus, it still weighed around 250lbs and was only 60cm from Ms Krehbiel and her daughter.

The tiger is believed to have weighed a whopping 250lbs
“It was the closest I have ever been to a tiger not in its cage. You don’t expect to go in a bathroom door, have it shut behind you and see a tiger walking toward you,” said Ms Krehbiel.
The good news is that the tiger was captured immediately and brought back to its enclosure before it could wander off elsewhere.
Ms Krehbiel said that she didn’t panic or scream because her job as a social worker means that she’s trained to stay calm in stressful situations. However, her daughter had a very unique reaction to meeting the tiger in the loo.
“My daughter wanted to know if it had washed its hands!” said Ms Krehbiel.
“That was her only concern. I think that shows the thoughts of children and that they wouldn’t have known there was danger,” she added.
