A woman has brilliantly illustrated her battle with depression with a clever tattoo.
Twenty-one-year-old Bekah Miles uploaded the design, which has since gone viral, in order to open a discussion about depression.
Bekah uploaded an image of the design to Facebook.
The tattoo reads ‘I’m Fine’ when viewed from the front, but upside down from Bekah’s view it reads ‘save me.’
Posting the image to Facebook, Bekah wrote: “When everyone else sees it, they see ‘I’m fine’, but from my viewpoint, it reads ‘save me’.
“To me, it means that others see this person that seems okay, but, in reality, is not okay at all.”
The tattoo reads ‘Save Me’ from Bekah’s perspective.
“It reminds me that people who may appear happy, may be at battle with themselves.”
Speaking about why she decided to share the photo on the social media site, Bekah explained that she hopes to shatter the stigma surrounding the illness.
She wrote: “This forces me to talk about my own struggle, and why the awareness of it is important.”
“Please keep sharing and spreading the awareness. This is the only way to get some real change in the stigma.”
