This Dublin Terraced house has one of the most unexpectedly amazing interiors

Cassie Delaney

As the generation who grew up with Changing Rooms, Grand Designs and Pinterest, it’s common to dream about finding an affordable fixer-upper on the outskirts of the city and injecting your personality and impeccable taste into the space.

Sadly, for most of us millennials, the funds to buy the aforementioned dream shell have yet to materialise so all we can do is admire the work of those who have boldly gone before us.

One such property is the absolutely stunning 5 Infirmary Road. The terraced house boasts all of the desirable elements of an older property. The red-brick façade is in supreme condition, the front garden is bright and maintained and a wrought iron black fence frames the steps to the coveted bright front door.

It wouldn’t be unusual for a developer in today’s market to take advantage of the high ceilings and spacious rooms in these properties and chose to pack in half a dozen one-bedroom units. Luckily the owners of this house respected it’s potential to be a beautiful family home and instead chose to refurbish this place as a modern livable, perfect little home.

Designed by Odos architects, the property consists of two bedrooms and a massive bright open plan living area. The open plan lounge and kitchen divided by an internal courtyard and lightwell providing an abundance of natural light throughout the property.

The house is facing the People’s Garden in Phoenix park, making it the perfect location for a young family. Priced at €375,000, it’s a very reasonable little gem in today’s market.
